Integrated Approach: Living the Principles of Yoga

At Himalayan Nada Nirvana Yoga, we believe that the true essence of yoga extends beyond the mat, into every aspect of daily life. This holistic yogic lifestyle is woven into the fabric of our daily practices and community engagement, which embody the traditional teachings of yoga, emphasising not just theoretical understanding, but the lived experience of the four main paths of yoga: Karma, Bhakti, Raja, and Jnana Yoga.

  • Karma Yoga is a mental approach, about selfless service, and is practiced through various community activities and responsibilities within the ashram.
  • Bhakti Yoga is emotional and devotional, and comes alive in our daily kirtans, rituals, and our heartfelt engagement with children.
  • Raja Yoga is mystical engagement, cultivated through meditation practices and mindfulness exercises.
  • Jnana Yoga concerns knowledge, and is pursued through the study of classical texts and the wisdom shared by our teachers.

This comprehensive, experiential learning environment ensures that students not only read about Sri Aurobindo’s philosophies, but also live them, fostering a deeper understanding and transformation. Through this immersive, integrated approach, one gains a holistic perspective and a profound connection to the true essence of yoga.
